In a nut shell, I review all our client accounts so that we don’t get in trouble with you, HMRC or the professional bodies that monitor us.
I like to have everything done “just so” – it has to be of a high standard, dealt with in a certain way and with an answer to every question I might ask. So that’s what I am here for; to ensure that your accounts are prepared to our exacting standards so that you don’t have to worry about a thing.
I also manage our workflows to ensure that we are completing everything in a timely manner, meeting deadlines and generally keep the cogs turning.
The Peloton is, quite simply, an awesome place to work! One of the most inspiring, innovative, forward thinking accountancy practices I’ve had the pleasure of working with. The team here are fantastic – the nicest, most interesting and motivated bunch of professionals you could work with. Everyone brings their own unique skill or specialism to the table to ensure that we are top of our game; and to the daily lunch table everyone brings their unique personality to entertain us whilst we all eat together. That’s what makes our days so refreshing and interesting – why not come along and find out for yourself?
Interesting stuff about me
One of my proudest achievements and probably the most physically demanding feat I have ever undertaken is hiking to Plateau Point on the Bright Angel Trail in the Grand Canyon. It was pretty hard work, as it is about an 8km hike down a rough & rocky path on a fairly steep decline and then a further 2.5km out to Plateau Point. It was well worth it though as the views were amazing and you won’t see anything like it anywhere in the world. The worst part was the climb back up to the rim, I nearly cried when I finally made it back.
Whilst studying for my ACCA exams, I also worked in a trendy city bar and made the crazy decision to work on Millennium New Years Eve – it was good money with amazing tips. It turned out to be probably one of the best New Year’s Eves I’ve ever had, despite the fact I was working, plus it was a bonus to wake up on New Year’s Day minus the hangover. If you want to feel alive and succeed in this world then you have to grab whatever opportunities come along and make the most of them.
I can make my tongue into the shape of a clover leaf :0)
I’m well travelled and have visited many countries around the world – I’ve travelled across Japan on the bullet trains, rode to the length of the longest outdoor escalator in the world, been to the top of the Empire State Building, gambled (for fun) in Las Vegas, flown by helicopter over the Grand Canyon, snowboarded on Grouse Mountain, bathed in Fijian hot mud pools, black water rafted & abseiled in the Waitomo Caves, sailing around the Whitsunday Islands, paragliding over Queenstown, diving off the Great Barrier Reef, Heli-Hiking on the Franz Josef Glacier, surfing at Surfers Paradise Beach, walked around the base rim of Ayers Rock and camped out in the bush under the stars, Phew!….and much more, just ask.
I’m married with two young boys who keep us young at heart and always on our toes. I spend pretty much all of my non-work time with family doing various activities around Cornwall, but most of the time you will find us at the beach come rain, wind or shine. Well, we are in Cornwall after all, so you have to make the most of it.
