What is the Autumn Budget 2017 and why should you care?
One of the most important dates in the parliamentary calendar is Budget Day (Autumn Budget 2017). This is when the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Phillip Hammond, goes to The House of Commons and reviews the country’s economic performance, sets out plans for raising the taxes that we need over the coming years and how the government intends to spend them to support our public services.
Budget Day is also when the government sets-out their thinking on how to keep the economy strong and resilient and fair. ‘An economy that works for everyone’ – in their words.
Whenever the Chancellor delivers the budget, the team at The Peloton take a look at the interesting points and try to condense the information into a more digestible read. This year is no different and we’re pleased to offer a download of our summary.
