After a long time in lockdown, we’ve finally reopened our doors! In order to brighten up the space for our team and our clients we are proud to be hosting Andrew Barrowman’s work at our Penryn office throughout the summer.
Andrew is a Cornwall based landscape and seascape artist, predominately painting in oils. We hosted his work back in summer 2019 and we are delighted to do so again.
Andrew enjoys painting outdoors (or ‘en plein air’), which allows the true feeling and atmosphere of his work to be felt through the textures of his pieces. He recently won the prestigious Bowyer Drawing Prize 2021 at the New English Art Exhibition in London.
“I love working outdoors when I get the opportunity. Painting by the sea, I often come home tasting the salt on my lips from the spray thrown into the air as the waves crash against the rocks. Painting inland, I usually come home covered in mud or scratched by brambles after tumbling over with all my painting gear – and dog in hand!”
Andrew exhibits his work both locally and further afield, and he sells his work throughout the year, including at The Custom House Gallery Porthleven, Gallery 5 in Salcombe, and the VK Gallery in Cambridgeshire to name a few. Andrew also has a studio at the local Krowji space in Redruth.
We’re displaying a beautiful and varied collection of recognisable landscapes and seascapes in The Peloton office. They certainly help to brighten up the place, and have put a smile on our faces.
