Mel Robbins is a Human Behaviour Specialist and entrepreneur, and created the Five-Second Rule while her and her husband were going through a difficult time in their professionals lives. Today, the video of her TED Talk has clocked more than 7,000,000 views.

The basic premise of her way of thinking is that once you have an idea to do something, you should act on it within 5 seconds or else the moment is gone along with the urge to make it happen.

The human psyche constantly puts-up barriers to change and getting out of your comfort zone is tricky, but never impossible. Nike coined the phrase, Just Do It, which is perfectly poised to reflect the sentiment of Mel’s way of thinking.
